The Great Secret of Spiritual Practice and Attainment
It is true that all the power that exists in the universe is also within you. However, it takes our Logical Mind to embrace and appreciate that power; and to do so, it needs evidence made up of facts and history. Nature holds evidence of such power within you and provides the path to that power. And until your spiritual practices provide your Logical Mind with those convincing evidences from nature and shows you how to link them to the corresponding power within, it becomes a struggle accepting this power for yourself.
Life is composed of things seen and unseen. The seen are related to the unseen. So, whatever you experience through the senses must confirm something inner or spiritual. The external evidences take you to a place within that resonates with its frequency. The confirmation, if fully grasped, is a gateway to experiencing your greatness.
When you observe some natural law in operation through the senses, your meditation or contemplation is to lead you to find the informing intention – the intention or spirit that informed or fashioned that external creation. By this practice, the external brings the non-observable spiritual phenomena also present within you to your awareness.
The power is within you but the path to the power is from without. The wave can only know itself from its interaction with the ocean within which it exists and is external to it. You no more need to go within to know yourself, you go without like the wave to ask the ocean what it is, what its laws and principles are. Having emerged from the ocean and discovering the nature of the ocean, you will discover what you are and the laws and principles that constitute your life, and by that you attain Cosmic Consciousness. You no more know you according to your concepts of you or of the people in your society, instead, you know you according to the cosmos that you have emerged from.
